Skunk2 Ultra Series Stage1 Camshafts
Skunk2 Ultra Series Stage1 Camshafts for Toyota Supra MK5/BMW B58 significantly increases engine efficiency and power output by utilizing advanced lobe profile designs that retain full Valvetronic and Double VANOS functionality, which ensures the widest possible powerband with smooth drivability and idle. For the ultimate in precision and strength/rigidity† Skunk2 Ultra camshafts are machined from forged solid 8660 alloy steel blanks that are then rifle drilled, induction hardened, and CNC precision ground.
Expect gains of 6% to 10% from 3,500rpm to redline with approximate gains of 100hp and 100lb-ft at 40psi boost pressure. Though Ultra Stage1 cams are compatible with stock OEM valve springs, we recommend the use of Skunk2 upgraded High Lift Valve Springs along with Titanium Retainers (PN: 313-14-1000) for the B58 as long term durability using stock valve springs is unknown.
When pushing performance, all OEM B58 camshafts are prone to bend due to the thin cam barrels designed to save weight and cost. Skunk2 Ultra Camshafts are made from high strength alloy steel and feature a thick-wall barrel design to better resist camshaft flex.
