Relocating the gear stick as close to the steering wheel as possible has long been a technique used in the world of motorsport to optimise car control.
The main benefit is the length of time the drivers hand is removed from the steering wheel is dramatically reduced. This new gearshift extension raises the gear knob 90mm and can be used in conjunction with a short shift stick too.
These literally just screw ontop of your stick, and then the gearknob on top of the extension.
