This is a replacement sump for the mentioned models in the ''suitable for'' list. But the sump can also be used as a replacement for for example K-swap engines in a Honda ''92-''00 model and the Integra/Civic 01-06 Type R.
A common dilemma, particularly with K-Swap applications or K20 engines with an aluminium sump (EP3/DC5 for example) is the sump clearance to the road surface. The aluminium sump Honda originally fitted to K20A engines is prone to cracking when hit; something K-Series owners will be all too familiar with. Substituting the aluminium sump for a steel type will be more likely dent, rather than crack. In addition to this benefit the Steel type sump offers slightly better ground clearance when compared to the Aluminium sump.Â
When switching to a steel sump, the Genuine Honda Flywheel inspection Cover will be required if you want this closed up.
You will also need 16 M6x16 bolts (see related products) and a sump gasket (see related products).
